Coming Soon: SINC32 version 1.1!
SINC is designed as a free cron-like scheduler for the windows environment. Written in C++ and Visual Basic, SINC comes in two parts, the SINC32 engine which parses the sinctab file and executes the job, and the Sinc GUI which allows the user to edit sinctab files and schedule jobs without needing to worry about sinctab configuration syntax.
For right now SINC is in a pre-alpha phase. SINC32 is nearly ready for release as a console application. Phase two will be to move the SINC32 engine from console to full-blown Win32-ism. Then work begins on the Sinc GUI.
You can get to our Sourceforge page here, and to the current CVS release here. If you're interested in this project and would like to know more and/or help in development, please conact Sean Campbell, the maintainer and lead developer.
06-25-00: The initial codebase was put into Sourceforges CVS, and the webpage was loaded. SINC32 nears completion requiring only execution code for the job queue.
Thanks to Tyrell Kumlin for his assistance and support (and many late night discussions on C++ code). Kudos also to Bob Stout for his public domain delay() function (found on Snippits).
Thanks to Sourceforge, Paul Vixie, ESR and the open source community without any of whome I'd never have undertakne this task. And oddly enough thanks to Microsoft--had they included a decent scheduler in Windows, I'd not be here ::evil grin:::
